Visitation of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco to the Metropolitan Cathedral, Cardiff  On the weekend of October 10th and 11th the National Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima along with relics of the visionaries will be visiting St. David’s Cathedral, Cardiff. This completes a yearlong tour of the cathedrals across England and Wales. All parishioners are welcome, indeed encouraged to take part. Saturday will follow this pattern: 09:40 – Welcome and Notices 09:50 – Procession of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of Ss Francisco and Jacinta Marto 10:00 – Enthronement, Reception of the Relics, Crowning, Incensing then Prayer for Wales 10:10 – Solemn Votive Mass of Our Lady of Fatima with the Consecration Prayer of the Archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary 10:30 Confessions will be available. 11:30 – Archbishop and Clergy Veneration of the Relics and Official Photograph 11:45 – Veneration of the Relics of Ss Francisco and Jacinta 12:00 – Lunch 13:00 – 14:00 Holy Hour with the Chaplet of Adoration and Reparation 14:10 – Benediction with communal recitation/reflection on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary 14:40 – Divine Mercy Chaplet 14:50 – Break 15:10 – Docu-film on "Fatima: Message for the World" 15:40 – Talk on the Message of Fatima 16:55 – Enrolment and Investiture of the Brown Scapulars 17:30 – Holy Mass (Vigil Mass of Sunday) 18:30 – Further opportunity for Veneration of the Relics of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta 18:45 – End of day 1. RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults • Are you someone without a formal religion who wants to be baptised in the Catholic faith? • Are you a Christian from another faith tradition who would like to be received into the Catholic Church? • Are you an interested inquirer who wants to find out more about the Catholic Faith? • Are you an adult who has missed out on the Sacrament of Confirmation? If any of the above applies to you, you are most welcome to join the Parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme which will run in the Parish Hall at St. Teilo’s on Wednesday evenings at 6pm beginning on Wednesday, October 7th . Please come along and discover more. Attendance does not commit you to completing the programme but is designed to allow you to reflect on God’s call for you. (The Parish Hall is accessed from the back of the Church building, between the Church and the Priest’s House.) Enrolment forms for the RCIA programme are now available at the back of both Churches.

Pope Leo XIV's apostolic letter ‘Dilexi Te’ and encyclical ‘Magnifica Humanitas’ call us to deepen our love for the poorest of our sisters and brothers. In this Artificial Intelligence age, Pope Leo recognises the vital importance of protecting the dignity of every human being. To help us answer this call, Caritas Cardiff-Menevia is holding a day at St. Mary’s Church, Bridgend on Saturday, October 10th. Raymond Friel OBE and Delyth Jewell MS will be the keynote speakers and there will be plenty of opportunity to share and discuss ideas and create new contacts. With Canon away until the end of the week, there will be no weekday Mass at St. Teilo’s and Our Lady of Lourdes. St. Teilo’s will be open each day for people to spend time in private prayer. Many thanks to the small group of volunteers who are facilitating the Church opening by agreeing to open and lock the Church each day.  Weekday Mass is available in our neighbouring churches: Nazareth House (access to the chapel is through the door on Colum Road, lift assisted access is via the convent entrance) – Mass is celebrated at 10am at Nazareth House on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (No Mass on Wednesday). St. Joseph’s – Mass is celebrated at St. Joseph’s at 9.15am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 7pm on Wednesday. The Three Churches – Mass is celebrated in the 3 churches as follows: Monday at 9.30am at St. Brigid’s, Tuesday at 9.30am at Christ the King, Wednesday at 9.30am at St. Paul’s, Thursday at 9.30am at Christ the King, Friday at 9.30am at St. Paul’s, Saturday at 9.30am at St. Brigid’s. St. Mary of the Angels and Holy Family – Mass is at 9.30am on Monday, Tuesday and Friday at St. Mary’s, at 6pm on Wednesday at St. Mary’s and at 9.30am on Thursday at Holy Family.

The next Parish Bingo evening will take place in St Teilo's Parish Hall on Friday, October 2nd . The doors will be open at 6.30 pm for a prompt 7pm start. A Chip shop supper is optional and this can be ordered on the night; the Bingo will be £7. There will also be the popular quick round of general knowledge quiz with a difference! All are very welcome to come along and enjoy this fun evening. Proceeds will go towards providing new and essential items for the homeless.

Knit and Natter The Parish Knit and Natter group will meet in St. Teilo’s Hall on Thursday of this week at 10.30am.
