The Sacrament of Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For "by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptised] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed
(Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285).

We welcome Archbishop Mark to the parish today. He will celebrate the 10am Mass this weekend and celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with the parish candidates and guests from other parishes in the Archdiocese. Please keep them in your prayers as they experience the coming of the Holy Spirit in their lives in a new way. Refreshments will be served in St. Teilo’s Hall after the Confirmation Mass today. We hope parishioners will come and celebrate with those being confirmed and also meet the Archbishop.

In preparation for Confirmation in July, three adults have come forward who have been baptised but due to various circumstances have not been confirmed. Canon John is running a preparation programme for these three adults which will run in parallel to the preparation for the young people. If there are any other adult parishioners who have not been confirmed for whatever reason, please let Canon know by email – whitchurch@rcadc.org or by giving him your name after Mass.
