This month’s craft session takes place in the Parish Hall at St. Teilo’s next Saturday, October 10th from 10.30am – 12.30pm . The session is suitable for absolute beginners to experts. Visitation of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco to the Metropolitan Cathedral, Cardiff On the weekend of October 10th and 11th the National Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima along with relics of the visionaries will be visiting St. David’s Cathedral, Cardiff. This completes a yearlong tour of the cathedrals across England and Wales. All parishioners are welcome, indeed encouraged to take part. Saturday will follow this pattern: 09:40 – Welcome and Notices 09:50 – Procession of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of Ss Francisco and Jacinta Marto 10:00 – Enthronement, Reception of the Relics, Crowning, Incensing then Prayer for Wales 10:10 – Solemn Votive Mass of Our Lady of Fatima with the Consecration Prayer of the Archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary 10:30 Confessions will be available. 11:30 – Archbishop and Clergy Veneration of the Relics and Official Photograph 11:45 – Veneration of the Relics of Ss Francisco and Jacinta 12:00 – Lunch 13:00 – 14:00 Holy Hour with the Chaplet of Adoration and Reparation 14:10 – Benediction with communal recitation/reflection on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary 14:40 – Divine Mercy Chaplet 14:50 – Break 15:10 – Docu-film on "Fatima: Message for the World" 15:40 – Talk on the Message of Fatima 16:55 – Enrolment and Investiture of the Brown Scapulars 17:30 – Holy Mass (Vigil Mass of Sunday) 18:30 – Further opportunity for Veneration of the Relics of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta 18:45 – End of day 1. RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults • Are you someone without a formal religion who wants to be baptised in the Catholic faith? • Are you a Christian from another faith tradition who would like to be received into the Catholic Church? • Are you an interested inquirer who wants to find out more about the Catholic Faith? • Are you an adult who has missed out on the Sacrament of Confirmation? If any of the above applies to you, you are most welcome to join the Parish Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme which will run in the Parish Hall at St. Teilo’s on Wednesday evenings at 6pm beginning on Wednesday, October 7th . Please come along and discover more. Attendance does not commit you to completing the programme but is designed to allow you to reflect on God’s call for you. (The Parish Hall is accessed from the back of the Church building, between the Church and the Priest’s House.) Enrolment forms for the RCIA programme are now available at the back of both Churches.
St. Teilo’s Friends of Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets on Saturday, October 10th at 2.30pm in the Parish Hall. Everyone is welcome to come along to pray for the parish and the intentions of the parishioners.
We will have coffee and tea in the St. Pope John Paul II Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes after the Mass on Wednesday. If you are at Mass on that day, please stay behind and spend some time socialising and sharing with our fellow parishioners.
Each Tuesday evening, the parish has an hour of silent Adoration at St. Teilo’s from 7pm to 8pm. The primary intention for the period of Adoration is vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Feel free to come for all or part of the hour to pray for the Church in its need for faithful ministers to continue the Mission of Jesus.
At a Loss Café The Parish Loss and Bereavement Café will recommence this Wednesday, October 7 th, and continue for six weeks. The Café is for anyone dealing with loss and you will find a cuppa and warm welcome waiting for you. Remember your loss does not have to mean bereavement. It can be any kind of loss you are feeling and perhaps with which you are struggling. The Café takes place on Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm in St. Teilo’s Parish Hall. Weekly attendance is not required. Come as and when you are able.
Walk and Talk The Walk and Talk group continues its weekly walks on Wednesday evenings at 5pm. The group will meet at the Scott Memorial Lighthouse, Roath Park.
The Parish indoor physical activity group takes place this Friday in the Hall at St. Teilo’s from 1.30am to 2.30pm.
