Holyday of Obligation – St. Peter and St. Paul
Webmaster • June 23, 2023
Thursday this week (29th June) is the Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul, a holiday of obligation, when all Catholics, who are able, are expected to attend Mass.
Masses in English on that day will be at 10am at St. Teilo’s and at 6pm at Our Lady of Lourdes. There will also be three Masses in Polish at Our Lady of Lourdes for anyone who finds the Polish Mass times more convenient. The Polish Masses are on Wednesday (Vigil Mass) at 7pm, and on Thursday at 11am and 7pm.

A lot of photos and memorabilia were loaned to the parish in preparation for the Parish Century Celebrations last year. All of them have now been sorted and returned to the sacristy at St. Teilo’s. If you did donate any photos etc for the Centenary display, please pick them up from the sacristy after Mass on a Sunday or weekday.

On one of our hottest evenings on Friday, July 10th some 25 brave Dabbers turned up to support the Parish Bingo evening. Angela Massey, her family and the fans (the undulating, not the adulating, kind) brought fun and refreshments. It was a really fantastic effort which raised £120 for Parish funds. Thank you to all who attended, regular and new.

Romilly Fenlon will be known to many parishioners due to her regular attendance at 10am Saturday Mass at St. Teilo’s for the years since Covid. Romilly’s Funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter's Church, Roath, on Friday July 24th at 10.00am. All are welcome to attend to pray for Romilly on her final journey. The Mass will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

Each Tuesday evening, the parish has an hour of silent Adoration at St. Teilo’s from 7pm to 8pm. The primary intention for the period of Adoration is vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Feel free to come for all or part of the hour to pray for the Church in its need for faithful ministers to continue the Mission of Jesus.
