With the introduction of the New Lectionary on the First Sunday of Advent, many of us will want to purchase New Sunday Missals containing the readings with the new texts of the Lectionary and the Order of Mass for every Sunday and Solemnity of the Liturgical Cycle. The New Sunday Missals cost £19.95 and will be available via the Piety Stall at St. Teilo’s. Cathy will be taking orders for the New Missals starting this weekend. We welcome Archbishop Mark to the parish today. He will celebrate the 10am Mass this weekend and celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with the parish candidates and guests from other parishes in the Archdiocese. Please keep them in your prayers as they experience the coming of the Holy Spirit in their lives in a new way. Refreshments will be served in St. Teilo’s Hall after the Confirmation Mass today. We hope parishioners will come and celebrate with those being confirmed and also meet the Archbishop.

As we all know, in the space of just one week at the end of June, MPs voted to decriminalise abortion up to birth and to legalise assisted suicide. These recent events have been a result of determined efforts by activists eager to expand the culture of death. Sadly, the pro-life movement simply do not have enough people active in the range of pro-life activities to contend successfully in the struggle for pro-life values. However, SPUC are as determined as ever to defeat abortion and assisted suicide and believe this can be done by mobilising adequate pro-life support. SPUC therefore urgently need to build up the critical mass of people necessary to effect real and lasting protection for unborn children and vulnerable people at the end of life. To Join the Fightback all parishioners are encouraged to complete an expression of an interest in SPUCs work, by completing a postcard at the back of the Church today. The postcards will be collected from the back of the Church and send to SPUC at no cost to you.

Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all of our lives, but they often work in difficult, hazardous conditions. The number of crews abandoned by their employers is still at a record high. Conflicts around the world are compromising seafarers’ safety, and many are experiencing stress and poorer mental health. Stella Maris (formerly known as the Apostleship of the Sea) is the maritime agency of the Catholic Church. Its teams of chaplains provide practical help and pastoral care to seafarers and fishers in the UK and around the world. Please stand alongside seafarers and fishers so that they will always have a friend in port to whom they can turn. Please also pray for seafarers and give to the collection at Mass. You are also able to donate using a debit or credit card at the Electronic Donation Station at the back of St. Teilo’s or at this address – https://donate.mydona.com/st-teilo-our-lady-of-lourdes
