Saturday Evening Mass in Memory of Geraldine Fitzgerald

Webmaster • January 20, 2024

The Saturday evening Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes this weekend is being celebrated as a memorial Mass for Geraldine Fitzgerald. Many of the regulars at Saturday evening Mass will remember Geraldine who attended Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes every Saturday before the Pandemic.

Geraldine died in the early weeks of the pandemic, during the time when her funeral, celebrated by Canon Isaac, could only have a maximum of 10 attendees. Her family has therefore asked for the community at Our Lady of Lourdes to come together with them to celebrate a Memorial Mass for Geraldine, praying for the repose of her soul. The Mass will fulfil the Sunday obligation as well as remembering and praying for one of the faithful members of our community who has been called to the Lord.

Anyone interested in helping to do the Flower arrangements at St. Teilo’s Church is asked to contact Gail Gerrard on 07765581206 or speak to Canon John. A regular arranger has recently had to drop out due to ill-health, so we really need someone to take on this role, the more the merrier. You would be part of a rota with at least three others, so would do the flowers at most, once every 4 weeks. The cost of the flowers can be reclaimed from the parish.
