Solemnoty of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Friday is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Mass on the Solemnity will be at 10am. As St. John says in his Gospel (19:33), when Jesus was dying on the cross "one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water." The celebration of the Sacred Heart is associated with the physical wound and the associated sacrifice, the "mystery" of both blood and water pouring from Christ's chest and the devotion God asks from humankind. Pope Pius XII wrote about the Sacred Heart in his 1956 encyclical, Haurietis Aquas (On Devotion To The Sacred Heart). Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is devotion to Jesus Christ Himself, but in the particular ways of meditating on His interior life and on His threefold love: His divine love, His burning love that fed His human will and His sensible love that affects His interior life. We come to the Sacred Heart as those who love Jesus and wish to align our hearts to His. At Mass on Friday, we have the opportunity to renew our dedication to Jesus’s Sacred Heart. Congratulations to Mel

Congratulations to Mel on his successful walk to the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada Earlier in the year, we appealed in the newsletter for support for Mel Hopkins, one of our parishioners, who was raising funds for Velindre Cancer Care by walking to the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the Granada region of Spain. Baptism Preparation Course

Baptism Preparation Course The next Baptism Preparation Course takes place at Christ the King, Llanishen, on Saturday, July 4 th and completes on Saturday, July 11 th. Both sessions will last around an hour. All those who wish to have their child baptised need to attend the course before the Baptism. Reaching Out Volunteer Evening

The Reaching Out Project team is hosting a celebration evening for all Reaching Out Volunteers on Friday in St. Teilo’s Hall at 7pm, following the 6.30pm Mass. The team would like to thank all the parishioners for their generous contribution to the work of Reaching Out and to ask for continued support and prayer for the project as it continues to show the parish’s outreach to those who are in great need.

Mass on Tuesday

Please note that Mass at St. Teilo’s on Tuesday morning will be at the earlier time of 9am. This is due to an Archdiocesan Meeting of the Clergy with the Catholic Christian Outreach Mission team in Aberafan which begins at 10.30am that day.

Youth Pilgrimage to the Welsh National Shrine of Our Lady

On Saturday, July 18th there will be an Archdiocesan Pilgrimage for young people in Years 8 to 13 to Our Lady of the Taper, Cardigan - the Welsh National Shrine of Our Lady. The cost is £15 per person.

Coffee and Tea after Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes

First Saturday Devotions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
