The Archdiocesan Advent Adventure is back!

Webmaster • November 24, 2023

Starting on Wednesday, November 29th at 7pm and for the following three Wednesdays, we will follow the Sycamore Advent programme. The focus of these sessions is on our search for God in life and in prayer and how God reaches out to us in history and through the Bible. All are welcome to come to one or all of the sessions which, like our Lent sessions, will be a combination of videos and group discussion as we renew ourselves and our faith in preparation to celebrate the great feast of the birth of the Lord Jesus.

Parishioners from St. Teilo’s are continuing to collaborate with the team who operate the Night Shelter at St. Mary of the Angels, Canton. In addition to the overnight accommodation, they offer the team now do a food run for the homeless once a month. Unlike the food we collect for families in the area, the needs of the food run are for the kinds of food that are appealing to young, often male, people on the street. Those who benefit from this provision are especially seeking fizzy drinks, chocolate bars, small individual cakes and crisps. If you are able to donate such items for the homeless, please leave them in the box at the back of the Church.

Please keep our new Holy Father, Pope Leo, in your prayers as he begins his ministry to the Church and the world: O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful, look favourably on Your servant Pope Leo, whom You have set at the head of Your Church as her shepherd. Grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN. Archbishop Mark issued a statement on the election of the new Pope.

Feel free to come for all or part of the hour to pray for the Church in its need for faithful ministers to continue the Mission of Jesus.
