The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima visiting St. Teilo’s

The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima and the Relics of St. Francisco and St. Jacinta will visit St Teilo's with Our Lady of Lourdes on the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of April. Please put the event in your diaries now. The timetable is as follows:


Mass Next Saturday Please note that there will be no 10am Mass next Saturday morning, rather Mass will be celebrated at 1.30pm as we welcome the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, see below for full timings.


Saturday 20th April

1.30pm - Procession and enthronement of Our Lady together with the relics of St. Jacinta and St. Francisco followed by Mass at St. Teilo’s 1.45pm - Recitation and Meditation of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary (St. Teilo’s)

2.15pm Veneration of the Relics (St. Teilo’s) 2.30pm Tea Break (Parish Hall)

2.50pm Chaplet of Divine Mercy (St. Teilo’s)

3pm Talk on the Message of Fatima (Parish Hall)

4.15pm Enrolment & Investiture of the Brown Scapular (St. Teilo’s)

4.30pm Exposition, Adoration and Benediction (St. Teilo’s)

6pm Vigil Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church: After post communion prayer: Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.


Sunday April 21st

10am Sunday Mass at St. Teilo’s after post communion prayer: Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Confessions

Due to the visit of the National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, there will be no confessions on Saturday morning. Confessions will take place as usual on Saturday evening at Our Lady of Lourdes

Reaching Out Project Easter egg appeal

We would like to give the children we support through the Reaching Out project an Easter egg again this year. We are asking for small/medium sized eggs. If you are able to donate, please leave the Easter eggs at the back of the Church by this Sunday at the latest. Many thanks to those who have already donated Eggs.

Collection Envelope Booklets

Please note that the Collection Envelopes for 2026-27 are now available at the back of both Churches. Anyone who wishes to join the Gift Aid scheme, please pick up an application form. The Parish Tresurer, Peter Curran, will speak at all Masses this weekend and members of the Parish Finance Committee will be at the back of the church to answer any queries.

St. Teilo’s Friends of Divine Mercy Prayer Group

St. Teilo’s Friends of Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets on Saturday, March 28th at 2.30pm in the Parish Hall. Everyone is welcome to come along to pray for the parish and the intentions of the parishioners.

Church Flowers – St. Teilo’s

Anyone interested in helping to do the Flower arrangements at St. Teilo’s Church is asked to contact Gail Gerrard on 07765 581206 or speak to Canon John. You would be part of a rota with at least three others, so would do the flowers at most, once every four weeks.

Parish Rosary Prayer Group

The Parish Rosary Prayer Group meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2.00pm in Ty Mair, 19 Heol y Waun CF14 1LB at the junction of Heol Gabriel and College Road. The group members have intercessory prayer, read and discuss the following Sunday's Gospel, pray the Rosary, pray the 3 o'clock prayer and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and have a cuppa! The next meeting takes place on Thursday, March 26th . All are welcome to attend.

Coffee and Tea after Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes

We will have coffee and tea in the St. Pope John Paul II Chapel at Our Lady of Lourdes after the Mass and Stations of the Cross on Wednesday 25th March . If you are at Mass on that day, please stay behind and spend some time socialising and sharing with our fellow parishioners.

Stations of the Cross

During Lent we will celebrate the Stations of the Cross each week at Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Teilo’s. Stations will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes after the 10am Mass on Wednesday.  Stations will take place after the 10am Mass at St. Teilo’s during Adoration on Friday.

Tuesday Evening Adoration

Each Tuesday evening, the parish has an hour of silent Adoration at St. Teilo’s from 7pm to 8pm. The primary intention for the period of Adoration is vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Feel free to come for all or part of the hour to pray for the Church in its need for faithful ministers to continue the Mission of Jesus.

Young Adults Retreat for those from 18 – 30 years old

'Emmaus Encounter', the Archdiocesan ministry to young adults aged 18-30 is offering a residential retreat at Belmont Abbey taking place from March 27th to 29th . The retreat costs £150 per person, plus a £25 single supplement. The retreat is full board, with a full timetable of activities, including a trip into Hereford on the Saturday to learn about the local martyr St. John Kemble. Parish Bingo Night

“Eyes down for a full house!” Bingo with a chip shop supper, will be held in St. Teilo’s Parish Hall on Friday, April 10th . Doors will open at 6.30 pm for a 7pm start. There will be cash prizes for a full house and for a winning line, as well as raffle prizes. Chip shop supper, for those who want to eat, will be served at around 8pm. Prices and choices will be available on the night. Bingo will cost £7. Soft refreshments will be available, but you can bring your own drinks. Any money raised will be for Parish Funds
