Faith Development – FORMED

As the new School and University terms are due to start, it might be a good time to explore our faith, or to share faith resources with our families. Why not take the time to explore the resources on the FORMED platform. The parish has invested in a subscription to FORMED, which means you do no\t have to pay anything to access the content.


FORMED is an online platform filled with over 4,000 Catholic studies, movies, audio dramas, talks, e-books, and even cartoons for children. It provides material that is professionally produced, engaging and solid in its catechism. Every parishioner now has access to all of these resources free to them due to the parish subscription. This should help to support your own faith journey and that of your family members. You are able to access all the resources at any time and anywhere, when you have internet access.


To gain access to all of FORMED’s content, follow these three simple steps:


• Go to https://signup.formed.org/

• Enter our parish’s Postcode – CF14 1AD

• Enter your name and your email address


You should only need to do this once on each webbrowser you are using as FORMED stores the data on your computer.


You can also access FORMED content on a tablet and/or smart phone (iPad/iPhone and Android), by searching ‘FORMED Catholic’ in your app store, downloading the app and following the instructions which are similar to those above.

Baptism Preparation Course

The next Baptism Course takes place in St. Teilo’s Hall on Monday, May 12th and completes on Monday, May 19th at 7pm. Both sessions will last around an hour. All those who wish to have their child baptised need to attend the course before the Baptism. Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Taper Cardigan – Wednesday 14th May

There are a few spaces still available for the trip to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Taper, Cardigan, on Wednesday, May 14th. A coach will depart on the day at 8.40am from St. Teilo’s and depart from Cardigan at approximately 5pm, arriving back in Cardiff about 7.30pm. We believe festival

On July 25th to 28th , a festival of Catholic Life celebrating the Jubilee Year of Hope, with parishes and families in mind will be taking place. Four days of music, keynotes, conversation and worship, in the beautiful surroundings of St. Mary’s College, Oscott, Sutton Coldfield. Featuring Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla (daughter of St. Gianna Molla), Fr. Paul Murray, Mgr. Michael Nazir-Ali, AnMari, Fr. Toby Lees and many more. Pilgrim-attendees can choose to come for the whole weekend (camping, staying locally or coming from home) at an adult Early Bird rate of £70, or for a day for £40. Parish Rosary Prayer Group

The Parish Rosary Prayer Group that normally meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2pm in Ty Mair, 19 Heol y Waun CF14 1LB at the junction of Heol Gabriel and College Road will meet this month on Thursday, May 22nd. The group members have intercessory prayer, read and discuss the following Sunday's Gospel, pray the Rosary, pray the 3 o'clock prayer and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and have a cuppa!  Please note carefully the change of date this month; the Prayer Group will meet on Thursday, May 22nd . All are welcome to attend.

Jubilee Year – Family Fun Day – Belmont Abbey

A Jubilee Family Funday has been arranged for the Archdiocese on Saturday, May 31st at Belmont Abbey. All are welcome to attend. The funday is an opportunity to come together and take a pilgrimage as an Archdiocesan Family and share an afternoon of fun with fellow Pilgrims of Hope. Please bring a picnic and the family, or come on your own, to an afternoon of fun, free flow activities including games, information and reflection ... and a Pilgrims’ Treasure Hunt. Arrivals from 11am, Mass of the Visitation to be celebrated by the Archbishop at 11.30am with an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The day will end at 4pm and people can leave then or remain for the Sunday Vigil Mass at 4pm.

Food run

Parishioners from St. Teilo’s are continuing to collaborate with the team who operate the Night Shelter at St. Mary of the Angels, Canton. In addition to the overnight accommodation, they offer the team now do a food run for the homeless once a month. Unlike the food we collect for families in the area, the needs of the food run are for the kinds of food that are appealing to young, often male, people on the street. Those who benefit from this provision are especially seeking fizzy drinks, chocolate bars, small individual cakes and crisps. If you are able to donate such items for the homeless, please leave them in the box at the back of the Church.

Pope Leo XIV

Grant, we pray, that by word and example he may be of service to those over whom he presides so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care, he may come to everlasting life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN. Archbishop Mark issued a statement on the election of the new Pope.
